The Philadelphia Eagles added 10 fresh faces from this year's 2025 NFL Draft, but arguably their most underrated and best pick was the one they made on Day 2 in Round 4.
The Eagles snagged former Nebraska defensive tackle Ty Robinson at No. 111 overall.
At 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds, Robinson capped off a standout 2024 season with the Cornhuskers, starting all 13 games and posting career-best numbers of 37 tackles, 12.0 tackles for loss, and 7.0 sacks. He also tallied four pass breakups, blocked a field goal, and recorded a safety, earning second-team All-Big Ten honors in the process.
Adding Robinson gives Philadelphia much-needed reinforcements along the defensive line, addressing a major hole left by Milton Williams' departure in free agency.
He can also bring some juice to the offense — if the Eagles choose to use him as an additional red-zone threat.
In his final season at Nebraska, Robinson was used more than just as a defensive lineman, playing eight snaps at fullback in short-yardage situations. The Cornhuskers scored touchdowns on seven of those plays where Robinson lined up as fullback on offense.
Robinson’s potential to contribute to the Eagles' Tush Push only makes him an even more valuable pick, and he knows versatility is exactly what he brings to the table.
"I feel like versatility is something I've kind of honed in on," Robinson said. "Being able to play all over the line. I'm willing to do whatever the coaches need me to do. Learning a new role or spot, I'm just looking to work to develop myself and become a better player to help the team in any way I can."
The league is expected to vote on the Tush Push ban in May, so we'll have to wait and see if the Eagles will even have the option to use Robinson on the play.
But either way, the Philly is ultimately grateful they landed Robinson, and he wasn't snatched away before they were on the clock in the fourth round.
"It doesn't take long to put on the tape to like Ty Robinson," Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman said. "He's got quickness, he can work edges, he's strong with his hands. He's got great, elite character. He's a Philadelphia kind of player. He was a guy we were targeting yesterday at 96, woke up, was really hoping he was there at our pick. That was one we weren't considering trading back from."
