The Philadelphia Eagles are 8-1 at the midseason point and while their record proves that they have had plenty of success all around, there's one gray area that sticks out as the team's biggest disappointment so far.

Last season the Eagles ranked third in red zone scoring and now the team sits at 13th with a 55 percent red zone touchdown success rate.

Sure, they have improved in the area from when they ranked 27th at the beginning of October, but if they plan on staying on the winning track to the Super Bowl, they're going to need to do better.

Failing to convert in the red zone still doesn't make sense considering the Eagles have all of the pieces that they could possibly need for red zone success from their quarterback Jalen Hurts and endless receiving options, to their run game and reliable offensive line.

Their red zone struggles have been a mixed bag of fumbles and offensive coordinator Brian Johnson's playcalling.

However, he was three for three on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

Johnson was also noticeably successful in Week 7 in the red zone against the Miami Dolphins.

When asked what the Eagles had been doing differently to make things happen in the red zone, Johnson emphasized "attention to detail."

"The guys did a great job of executing, making plays, and putting guys into position to where they could go and do what they do best," Johnson said last month, "but for us we talked about this a lot as obviously an area of emphasis and something that we obviously need to be better at.

"So just our focus, our attention to detail of what we were doing to make sure we came away with seven instead of three."

If the Eagles can continue to consistently fix their red zone woes, this offense will become unstoppable.
