The Philadelphia Eagles' secondary has had the worst luck when it comes to injuries this season.

They lost cornerback Avonte Maddox and safety Justin Evans to injured reserve.

Meanwhile, corners James Bradberry and Darius Slay, along with safety Reed Blankenship have been on and off the team's injury report.

But you can't always blame poor play on injuries.

The Eagles' secondary has been atrocious through the first half of the season and they'll need to change things up for the second stretch.

They've allowed the most passing yards (2,313), completed passes (241) and most passing touchdowns (19).

They're also the second-worst at intercepting opposing quarterbacks, only having four takeaways as a group on the season so far.

The Eagles attempted to bolster their secondary by trading for safety Kevin Byard, but his veteran presence has not been enough to help them.

There is a chance for improvement once Bradley Roby finally returns from his shoulder injury that he's been dealing with for three weeks now. Then, he can take over the nickel spot.

The Eagles have tried to fill his void with nearly every other player in the secondary and it hasn't worked out too well for them.

Let's just say that if it weren't for the rest of the defense doing their part, the Eagles would not be 8-1 right now.

It's their bye week and the perfect time to make adjustments.
