The curse has been broken. An NFC East trend that has lasted over two decades is officially over. The Philadelphia Eagles are NFC East champions two years in a row.

Eagles break back-to-back curse for NFC East winners

With the victory over Washington, the Eagles are the first team in the NFC East to win the division in back to back seasons in 21 years. That ended the longest division streak in NFL history without a repeat champion in back to back seasons. With the win, the Eagles also eliminated the rival Dallas Cowboys from postseason contention.

Jalen Hurts told Mike Garafolo after the game that they knew they could make division history with the win, “Definitely something that was on our minds. Definitely something that was on my mind.” As for the hat and T-shirt he’s getting: “I’ll hang it up somewhere.”

Philadelphia has won the division twelve times since 2000. In second place? The Cowboys with just seven NFC East titles during that span. The New York Giants and Washington Commanders have combined for seven since 2000.

Jalen Hurts proves that he can find success with different coaches

Jalen Hurts is now the first QB in NFL History to clinch four straight playoff berths with four different offensive coordinators. That is quite notable in the NFL, when you consider how long it takes some starters to adjust to new play calls and scheme, depending on the coach.

Amid a season with plenty of doubtful takes and projections when it comes to the Eagles quarterback, he continues to overcome those to help Philly win meaningful matchups consistently.

Nick Sirianni joins NFL elite with latest win

Nick Sirianni now has the 3rd most wins by any head coach in their first five career seasons in NFL history (64). His start to a coaching career has been quite impressive, including three NFC East titles, two conference titles, and one Super Bowl. The Eagles leader will look to continue building on those numbers.
