The Philadelphia Eagles are about to play in the biggest game of most of their careers. Of course, there are the few that were on the team in 2017, so this would match that game for them, but most of them have never even remotely come close to a game of this magnitude.
When you play a game this big, it is natural for the nerves to be there. That is completely okay, especially considering what lies in the week before the big game.
Yet, with all that, Jalen Hurts still looks the same. His facial expressions don't change. He is even-keeled, hardly smiling or cracking a frown. He is just ready. He is just ready to prove the entire world wrong, as he has so many times already in his young career.
"Yeah, I think this is a moment that you definitely want to embrace everything with it because you work really hard, work really hard for this opportunity," Hurts said on Friday. "But I think it's important to stay neutral. And I know there's a whole group of men looking at me, expecting me to go out there and make things happen.
"And ultimately everyone has to dominate their box and do their job. But I think just being in this role and having this position on this team, I think the leaders need to lead and, obviously you want your big-time players to make big-time plays in a game like this. But again, I don't think that's anything out of the ordinary of anything that we've done all year. So I always go back to the kind of doing what we do."
The Eagles are about to play in the game of their lives. Hurts, even after competing for and playing in National Championships in college, is about to play in a game bigger than that one.
This is the game kids dream about playing in. This is the game most adults, most NFL players don't get to play in. Yet, Hurts is as cool as a cucumber. It's pretty evident the Eagles found something special in Hurts.
He continues to show and prove that every day.
