The Philadelphia Eagles are a part of one of the toughest media markets in the NFL. It doesn't take long to realize how difficult that city is to coach and play in.

Still, it partially seems like former defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon was inflating his time Philly and his interactions with the media in a recent interview where he discussed his time with the Eagles and their media:

Gannon is right that he was very successful during his time with the Eagles and that the defense was one of the best in the NFL, but the part about people calling for his head, especially those in the media, was very interesting.

Eagles fans and the media aren't shy to call for the firing of a coach when they don't live up to expectations. That didn't  happen with Gannon much last season.

It is also worth noting that the Eagles never reached 9-0 last season and that most of the numbers Gannon referenced were large hyperboles when related to actual sack numbers, etc.

Now, was there some criticism after the Super Bowl loss? Absolutely. But strangely enough, that was one of the times where it was hardest to get a comment from Gannon.

Weird.
