The Philadelphia Eagles added another defender with the pick they received from the Arizona Cardinals as a result of the tampering investigation conducted by the NFL,
The Eagles selected Illinois safety Sydney Brown with the 66th overall pick in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft,
Brown is quite the athlete, he tested quite well in all areas at the combine excluding the weigh-ins.
Brown was a long-term starter for the Illinois defense. He lined up primarily in the box as a strong safety and led the Big 10 in interceptions with six in his final year.
Brown's best work comes as a run defender, and he can handle man coverage against tight ends.
He can be a bit reckless when it comes to tackling, as he misses some tackles and lowers his head to initiate contact a fair amount.
If he cleans this up, he can be a long-time starter for Philadelphia.
The Eagles also drafted Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter and Georgia linebacker Nolan Smith in the first round.
