Eagles CB Cooper DeJean’s brother follows in his football footsteps with latest pivotal CFB decision
He’s working hard to play in the NFL just like his brother in the future.
Football lineage is always so intriguing to consider when you get to the college and professional levels. We see plenty sons of former NFL players in the pros today, and there are only a ton more coming down the road. Seeing a brother of a Philadelphia Eagles player making waves in the college football landscape is pretty exciting as well.
That is the reality for a sibling of Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean.
2027 4-star Jaxx DeJean commits to Iowa
Cooper DeJean’s younger brother, Jaxx DeJean, is making a name for himself on the field as well. As a 2027 4-star TE recruit, DeJean has committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Cooper’s brother is set to play for the school that he was drafted out of by the Eagles to attempt to lengthen the Iowa bloodline on the gridiron. Jaxx was a two-way player in high school, but his long-term projection is at the tight end position. May we see him line up against his older brother one day in the pros? It is a possibility.
On3’s Steve Wiltfong discussed DeJean’s production and outlook as a high school prospect in the 2027 class. This is a notable get for the Iowa offense of the future, as they look to improve.
“DeJean is the jewel of a class the Rivals Industry ranks No. 17 early in the cycle. The younger brother of former Hawkeyes standout Cooper DeJean, Jaxx chose to play for the in-state program over Kansas State and Michigan among others.
DeJean played on both sides of the ball as a junior and caught 36 passes for 461 yards and six touchdowns with another 207 yards rushing and three more scores. The also threw two touchdown passes and picked off three passes when lined up on the other side of the football.” — On3.com
Iowa is known for multiple aspects of development, but tight ends seem to grow on trees for the program. T.J. Hockenson, George Kittle, Sam Laporta, among other top tight ends over the years are former Hawkeyes making plays in the NFL, and DeJean is hoping to be the next.
