The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys rivalry has been around for a long time and is very well known in the football community. When you think of rivalries in football, you think of the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders, and Cowboys-Eagles. Obviously, there are others, but those are the first that come to this writer's mind.
And guess what? These two teams happen to be two of the NFL's best.
And in case you didn't know, they are ready to battle it out on Sunday Night Football.
Usually, during Cowboys week, you will hear both teams saying what they always do. When asked about the other team and what they do well, a player will oftentimes be disrespectful, or just give the lowest compliment possible.
Recently, one Cowboys player had some surprising thoughts on some of the players on the Eagles.
"Jalen Hurts is really good, you know," Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs said on NFL Total Access when asked about his former Alabama teammate. "He is just my buddy. I compete every time I see him. I just want to beat him just like he wants to beat me, so it's kind of personal every time I see him."
"A.J. Brown, DeVonta [Smith] too, very good wide receivers, so we are going to make sure we do our job," Diggs replied when asked about the weapons the Eagles have.
Even if most of them won't say it, I think they know how good the Eagles are this year. Even if it doesn't directly come out of their mouth, they respect the Eagles in terms of the talent they are bringing.
Philly is undefeated for a reason and has won in every way possible, so far. They have the shootout game against the Lions. They have the close game where they shot themselves in the foot against the Cardinals. They have the blowout game against the Vikings, and they have the comeback game against the Jaguars.
The game against the Cowboys and their elite defense won't be easy, but they can do it.
Just don't expect Diggs to be so nice once the game actually kicks off.
