The rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys (10-3) and Philadelphia Eagles (12-1) just ramped up a notch.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is at the forefront of the NFL’s MVP discussion. He’s having a career year, having passed for 22 touchdowns to the likes of A.J. Brown, Devonta Smith, and others behind a fantastic offensive line.
Not only is he getting it done through the air, but Hurts has accumulated 686 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in the ground game.
However, Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons believes that Hurts’ success is mostly due to the Eagles’ system and the playmakers he has around him.
Parsons went on Von Millers podcast, appropriately titled The Voncast, to diminish Hurts’ accomplishments this season.
“Is it Hurts or the team?” Parsons asked. “I’m not trying to make enemies. I just love the game so much and I understand it so much, when things are off I can’t hold it in. I almost gotta say something.”
Parsons not only comes off as bitter with such a ridiculous statement, but his willful ignorance is surprising. This isn’t the first time a Cowboys defender took a shot at Hurts, either.
When asked about Parson's comments on Wednesday, Hurts knew better than to involve himself in a war of words.
At the end of the day, Philadelphia will use these types of things as bulletin board material. Hurts, who is highly motivated as it is, will look to make Parsons pay when these two NFC East foes get together on Christmas Eve.
