Emotions were running high during the Philadelphia Eagles' 32-9 blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night.
And tight end Dallas Goedert couldn't hide his frustrations.
During the second half of the game, Goedert appeared to spew some angry words at quarterback Jalen Hurts before walking away.
Hurts didn't react, he just looked defeated.
After the game, Goedert shut down any speculation that he was mad at Hurts.
“I could have messed up a big play to [DeVonta Smith] early in the game, I think that’s what it was,” Goedert said post-game. “It was my fault, I missed the sign… I was a little frustrated with myself, not Jalen at all. Me and him have a great relationship, I don’t think we’ve ever had an argument at all.”
Goedert finished the night reeling in four receptions for 21 yards and the lone touchdown pass from Hurts, who threw for 250 yards in the loss.
After starting the year 10-1, the Eagles couldn't out of their rut, losing six of their final seven contests.
Hurts chalked up the season by saying it was "simply not our turn."
"I'm very appreciative of everything we’ve been through and fought through," said Hurts following the loss. "Obviously, we took a turn there and things didn’t end the way we wanted. But it’s simply not our turn. It’s not turn. We got a taste of it last year winning the conference championship and having an opportunity to play in our Super Bowl, and it wasn’t our turn then."
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni and players will go through their exit interviews on Wednesday with significant changes expected to happen.
Nick Sirianni’s future with Eagles looks murky
Sirianni will meet with Jeffrey Lurie and Howie Roseman today.
