Jalen Hurts burst onto the scene during the 2022 NFL season.

After leading the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs despite Hurts' performance, the star quarterback earned a new $255 million contract, briefly resetting the quarterback market before Lamar Jackson was granted his contract extension a few weeks later.

Though Hurts earned respect throughout the 2022 season, some may have forgotten how well the Eagles' signal-caller played. But recently, the Eagles' tight end, Dallas Goedert, reminded the NFL world of how good Hurts is in comparison to other quarterbacks in the NFL.

"I think Jalen has to be at the top," Goedert said on Pardon My Take. "If you don't, you're just trying to use his name. You can say he's got good talent around him. No, he's a dog. He's really good. I think he should be top three, top two. It's hard to take anything away from Patrick (Mahomes). You go down that list and there's probably 10 quarterbacks that could be in the top five. Depends on what fan base you are. But personally speaking, Jalen is in the top two."

Goedert has some built-in bias regarding Hurts. As the tight end in the Eagles' offense, Hurts is his quarterback, and he isn't going to slight the quarterback that carried the team to the biggest game of the season.

When looking at quarterbacks around the NFL, there are quarterbacks like Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Jackson, Aaron Rodgers, and others who can be ranked on a scale with Hurts.

However, a quarterback list with those names on it really is a practice of splitting hairs. The Eagles are happy to have Hurts on their side. And Goedert is probably speaking for the team when he speaks on how confident the Eagles team is in the quarterback that has revitalized the franchise.
