The Philadelphia Eagles added two more names to watch as it continues in its search to find a defensive coordinator.

Jonathan Gannon, who previously served as the Eagles’ DC, left to take the head coaching job with the Arizona Cardinals. With the position now vacant, Philadelphia has been doing its due diligence by interviewing a handful of different candidates.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports that the Eagles conducted interviews with Rams defensive backs coach and pass game coordinator Chris Shula on Tuesday. Shula, the grandson of the great Don Shula, worked with head coach Nick Sirianni on the Chargers’ coaching staff from 2015-2016.

The Birds, who have already interviewed former Wisconsin head coach Jim Leonhard, are diving back into the college ranks. Philadelphia has reportedly met with Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter as well.

In addition to these two, the Eagles have also met with Seahawks associate head coach Sean Dessai and former Cardinals DC Vance Joseph about the job opening. It’s clear that Philly’s intention is to cast a wide net and comb through its options instead of rushing to make a decision.
