The Philadelphia Eagles took care of one of the best players in the NFL on Friday.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles gave right tackle Lane Johnson a one-year extension worth $33.445 million. The deal includes $30 million in guaranteed money. Johnson is now signed through 2026.

Not only does this deal ensure that Johnson is the highest-paid right tackle in the NFL, but it also lowers his cap hit.

Johnson's cap hit was supposed to be over $24 million in 2023. This extension will lower his cap hit to around $14 million in 2023.

The four-time Pro Bowler hasn't allowed a sack over the last two seasons. He's one of the main reasons the Eagles' offense was so potent in 2022 (despite the fact that he was playing with a leg injury).

Johnson has spent his entire career with the Eagles after the franchise selected him with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
