Only a couple of hours have passed since the start of NFL free agency, and the Philadelphia Eagles have already lost some important pieces to their defense.

Defensive tackle Milton Williams was the first to go after he agreed to a $26 million per year deal with the New England Patriots, per NFL Networks' Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo

Cornerback Isaiah Rodgers was next, signing with the Minnesota Vikings on a two-year deal worth $15 million, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. And then soon after that one, Schefter announced that defensive end Josh Sweat landed on a four-year, $76.4 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals.

These are some tough pills to swallow as the Eagles are forced to break up their Super Bowl-winning defense, but Sports Radio host Tom Kelly shared the perfect reminder amid the chaos.

"Howie gave warning that things might look odd at first but encouraged fans to stay patient," Kelly wrote. "He has earned that trust. I believe that the plan he has in place will make sense in the end."

Roseman had warned fans at the NFL Combine that the Eagles' moves might not be what everyone was wishing or hoping for, but asked for patience in the process.

“It may look different — some of the moves that we may have to make here may not be what are necessarily on other people's minds,” Roseman told reporters. "It’s probably not going to look like maybe the conventional wisdom thinks it should look. I would just ask our fans to just have patience throughout the offseason. The offseason doesn’t stop in free agency. The offseason doesn’t stop in the draft.”

Roseman is known fore having magic tricks up his sleeve in the offseason.

In Howie, fans must trust.
