The Philadelphia Eagles and their fans have been a bit concerned this week when it comes to the availability of some of their top offensive weapons. Luckily, everyone on that side can breathe a sigh of relief less than 24 hours before their clash with the Chicago Bears on Black Friday.

Saquon Barkley and Devonta Smith both good to go versus Bears

According to the Eagles, running back Saquon Barkley and wide receiver Devonta Smith are both off the injury report. Both Barkley and Smith participated in practice on Thursday, ahead of Friday’s game against the Bears. Smith was dealing with two different injuries, along with an illness this week.

Wide receiver/returner Xavier Gipson (shoulder), offensive lineman Myles Hinton (back), and offensive tackle Lane Johnson (foot) have been ruled out for the Eagles.

The Bears have also activated two of their top defensive backs from injured reserve in Kyler Gordon and Jaylon Johnson. If Smith wasn’t going to be able to suit up, Jalen Hurts’ task to lead the passing offense for Philly looked like it may be a lot tougher. Now, they won’t have to worry about that.

It is also worth noting that the Bears defense has struggled on the back end throughout this season, but they’ve also rarely had both Gordon and Johnson on the field at the same time. With that, it may take a little bit of time for them to get comfortable. The Eagles cannot afford to fall behind early and back themselves into a corner when it comes to play calling from Kevin Patullo.

No matter what – this positive update on both Smith and Barkley will take some stress off Eagles fans as they enjoy Thanksgiving festivities with their family.
