Cam Jurgens wasted no time to get ready for next season after the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Jurgens "underwent a back procedure Tuesday in Los Angeles with Dr. Robert Watkins to alleviate nerve pain." However, Jurgens is expected to be fully recovered by July, which sets him up perfectly for training camp.
And out of all the positions, having a center ready for training camp is one of the most important.
Jurgens was drafted by the Eagles in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and spent his rookie season at guard. Former Eagles starting center Jason Kelce actually helped draft Jurgens as his successor once he decided to retire.
And following the 2023 season, Kelce decided to hang up his cleats, allowing for Jurgens to take over. In his first year as starting center, Jurgens was named to the Pro Bowl, along with being a crucial part of the Eagles Super Bowl victory.
If the Eagles want to repeat their success, they are going to need Jurgens back out there when quarterback Jalen Hurts and the rest of the offense returns for the 2025 season. And it looks like he will be back and better than ever.
