The Philadelphia Eagles were able to get two wins on Sunday in Week 15. Of course, they beat the Chicago Bears, but they also got a win in one other way.
Anytime your biggest rival loses and you win, it's a double win, but this one was a bit special. The Dallas Cowboys lost in a way only they can.
Let's start by addressing the first win over the Bears. The Eagles were able to get the job done through the air even when it was nine degrees outside, with a constant gust of wind.
The Eagles finished with 112 rushing yards and 309 passing yards, as both Smith and Brown finished with over 100 receiving yards.
The defense did their thing too, as they had six sacks on the day, making that 13 in two weeks, inching closer to the franchise record 62 in a season.
Now, let's get to the Cowboys game, that was a blown lead, that led to a walk-off touchdown by the Jaguars.
Not only did the Cowboys lose, helping the Eagles in terms of playoff standings, but they lost to the Jaguars in a way we haven't seen in a while, which has to destroy some of that confidence, which also helps the Eagles considering they play each other next week.
The Cowboys were up 27-10 on Jacksonville. Then, the next thing you know the Jaguars are up 31-27. So, to start, they blew a huge lead to a team they shouldn't have.
Then, the Jaguars forced overtime after the Cowboys go back up. In overtime, the Jaguars' defense picks off Prescott and returns it for a touchdown, which wins them the game.
The Eagles win on Sunday, twice. Now that they play each other in Week 16, the Eagles will already know that the Cowboys' confidence is a bit shot.
