The Philadelphia Eagles have had a rough last few weeks, stemming back to their loss at home to the New Orleans Saints, and even in the win last week against the Giants.
It's safe to say things haven't been as bright and sunny as they were in the middle of the season, or even four weeks ago. It takes just one week to mess up the vibe of a season, and we have seen that.
Really it started against the Chicago Bears when Jalen Hurts got hurt. And we saw he definitely wasn't fully healthy last week against the Giants.
"I think the whole world knows I'm dealing with something, been dealing with something," Hurts said. "The whole point of that game was coming back, getting done what we need to get done, and obviously having that time to rest. So here it is."
We saw last week that Hurts did not look like the quarterback we saw all season long. He did not look like a guy who was very close to winning the MVP award and led his team to a 14-1 record, as the other two losses came when he wasn't playing.
That didn't look like Hurts, and now fans are worried if that's who they will get next week after the bye. And, they should be worried about that.
"That name is that name. The man will be there," Hurts said to reporters when asked if he will be the same guy we all saw this season.
I mean, we have no choice but to believe him because, well, he did it all year. Then again, you look at what he did against the Giants, a team full of backups, and you can tell he is still hurting.
Luckily he has a week to get right. The Eagles will need him. If he plays as he did against the Giants, they won't play another game this season.
