Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman made some comments recently during an appearance on the "New Heights" podcast that should excite Philly fans.

Roseman appeared on the podcast, which is hosted by Eagles offensive lineman Jason Kelce and his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, earlier this week.

The Philadelphia general manager, who has been with the franchise since he was hired as an intern in 2000, spoke about how much he hates the term "rebuilding" as he noted the urgency he feels to compete for championships.

"For me, especially in our market, there is no rebuilding," said Roseman. "It's just as quickly as we can to be a championship team…and that's the goal."

"Just the word rebuilding, it kind of rubs me the wrong way," added Roseman. "Like, we're about competing, and so how do you say that to your players? How do you tell players that [you're rebuilding]? You can't build a culture like that because how do you turn it back on? How do you tell these great players it's going to take us two to three years, and then say now we're ready?"

If you're an Eagles fan, those comments have to be music to your ears.

It often feels like there are general managers in the NFL who operate with no sense of urgency. They look at patience as a virtue that signifies that they're smarter than everyone else who has a seat at the table.

And while that can be true at times — patience can be important — it often leads to mediocre seasons where a team needs that one more "thing" to put them over the top.

Roseman's philosophy is to get that "thing" instead of waiting. That's evident in the way he acquired superstar wide receiver AJ Brown a year ago on draft night. That move helped get the Eagles back to the Super Bowl this past season.

And while Philly came up short of their ultimate goal, at least they were in a position to win a championship. And that's really all you can ask for from a general manager.
