Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter caught NFL fans' attention during Monday night's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs by doing something that many — if not all — had never seen before.

On the final play just before halftime, Carter dove between the legs of Kansas City center Creed Humphrey in an attempt to intercept Patrick Mahomes' spiked ball.

Unfortunately, Carter didn't get the interception, but he came extremely close.

After the Eagles won 21-17, Carter was asked where he first learned the idea.

“I seen it on YouTube and some high school kid attempted it and he actually caught it,” Carter said. “I attempted it and I didn’t catch it.”

Carter's teammates were just as surprised as fans were, including veteran linebacker Haason Reddick.

“Yeah, I saw that,” Eagles' linebacker Haason Reddick said, via NBC Sports. “Rookie, young, full of energy, going out there and being crazy. It’s crazy. It looked like he almost had it. That’s the wild thing about it. He’s been great all year as well. Coming in this year, being a big help on the interior. Looking for him to continue to trend upwards as we continue to go on this season.”

In only a short amount of time, Carter has made his presence felt on this Eagles' defense and his "crazy" attempt at intercepting a spiked ball will be talked about for a long time.
