The Philadelphia Eagles have been nothing but a disappointment recently, leaving many to speculate that head coach Nick Sirianni has lost the locker room.
Sirianni was asked about the Eagles' current locker room situation during a radio appearance on 94WIP this week.
“I know our guys, and we’re with them every single day,” Sirianni said. “We’ve been through a lot of ups and downs here and you know because of the guys, because of the relationships, because of what you witness every single day, that’s how you know. It’s something that you know from being in meetings with them, being in walk-throughs with them, being on the practice field with them, being outside of meetings with them, at lunch. All those different things.”
If it weren't for top wide receiver A.J. Brown finally speaking up, Sirianni's words would have been hard to believe — given how the Eagles have spiraled over the last couple of weeks.
Brown, after going mute for two weeks, made it clear that he's on board with Sirianni and the rest of the Eagles' coaching staff. He also admitted that Sirianni has taken too much heat for his and his teammates' mistakes this season.
“People say I’m beefing with Nick,” Brown said. “I’m not mad at Nick. I’m not mad at anybody. We have a great relationship. I got a ton of respect for Nick. He’s sticking up for us. For example, I’m going to get into detail. For the Seattle game, that was on us. We messed that up. We improvised and we went on our own, and Nick came out and said, ‘I wanted to get a flag’ (for interference) or something like that. He made himself look like a fool for us. I have nothing but respect for him. We riding with Nick. We riding with Brian (Johnson)."
The Eagles will look to match their words with action and finish the regular season strong against the New York Giants on Sunday before heading into the postseason.
