The Philadelphia Eagles could have three starters back in their lineup on Monday Night Football versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to head coach Nick Sirianni.
The Eagles were without running back Kenny Gainwell (ribs), safety Reed Blankenship (ribs) and cornerback James Bradberry (concussion) on Thursday.
In place of Gainwell, D'Andre Swift carried the backfield, which turned out to be a career night for the former Detroit Lions' second-round pick.
As for the banged-up secondary, Josh Jobe and Mario Goodrich took over at corner and played well against Minnesota Vikings' rookie wideout Jordan Addison while Terrell Edmunds stepped up at safety.
Despite pulling off a 34-28 win over the Vikings minus some key players, the Eagles could really use their veteran presence back in the lineup, which Sirianni is hopeful about for Monday.
"I’m never going to put a timeline on anybody," Sirianni said during Monday's press conference. "They’re not in the building today, but we feel like everyone has a chance to play this week against Tampa. We’ll see though. It’s a little bit too early for me to say, again, with them being out of the building today. I’ll have more information once they get back in. We feel good everyone has a chance to play this week.
"With James, I’m unable to comment on that with him being in the concussion protocol."
Since the Eagles don't play until next Monday, they don't have to officially release an injury report until Thursday. However, with the extra rest days, everyone should be trending upward.
