The Philadelphia Eagles are set to host the Cleveland Browns at the NovaCare Complex ahead of their Week 2 NFL preseason game.

While speaking to reporters at the NFL league meetings in Palm Beach, Florida,  Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski announced that his team would travel to Philly in August.

“We’ll go to Philly week two and practice twice vs. them,” he said.

NFL joint practices are a huge benefit and offer teams a chance to practice against different personnel other than their own before the start of the season.

It especially helps rookies enhance their skills in a controlled, competitive environment and better prepares them for the season by introducing new competition and play styles. These practices also give coaches more precise evaluations of their players.

There has been some crossover between the Eagles and the Browns. Most recently, Philly traded backup quarterback Kenny Pickett to Cleveland in exchange for backup quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson. The Eagles also signed former Browns long snapper Charley Hughlett and tight end Harrison Bryant in NFL free agency.

It's also worth mentioning that Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz spent five seasons with the Birds (2016-20) and was a part of their 2017 Super Bowl run. Cleveland also has former long-time Eagles running backs coach Duce Staley coaching their backfield.

This will be the second time that the Browns and Eagles have had joint practices together at the NovaCare Complex. The last time was back in 2022.

While the Eagles and Browns won't face each other during the 2025 NFL regular season, these joint practices will ultimately help them get ready.
