The Philadelphia Eagles lost a key member of their front office, Jake Rosenberg, in March.
The Eagles' former Vice President of Football Administration had been general manager Howie Roseman's right-hand man dating all the way back to their elementary school days.
After 12 seasons with the Eagles, Rosenberg made the decision to go after other opportunities, with hopes of following in Roseman's footsteps and landing a GM position in the NFL himself.
Instead, he found a job at the college football level, helping manage Oklahoma Football's NIL operation.
The Sooners announced this week that they have hired Rosenberg and his consulting group in a partnership role with new general manager Curtis Lofton for their new recruiting structure.
"We knew this shift would require a heavy lift to get us going, which is why we turned to an expert with Super Bowl-winning NFL experience," said Oklahoma Vice President and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione, via an official statement released by the team. "Jake knows what it takes to build a championship team, and his reputation for developing cohesive programs and teams will serve us well as we modify our approach to meet the moment.
“In today’s landscape, we know building teams and recruiting athletes requires more innovative thinking and focused leadership. What we have in this new structure and our partnership with Jake is a path forward to position OU Football – and eventually, the rest of our programs – for success in the new world.”
Per the release, Rosenberg will help “to place OU football at the forefront of talent analysis, acquisition, and retention.”
Just like he did in Philly, Rosenberg is to oversee player signings and the transfer portal, manage contract negotiations, roster building, and overall strategic planning.
