Philadelphia Eagles will be without starting left guard Landon Dickerson for some time, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Dickerson is scheduled to undergo surgery on his thumb on Wednesday, Garafolo reports.

He adds that the Eagles have no plans of placing Dickerson on Injured Reserve.

Dickerson is expected to miss Week 16's matchup against the New York Giants and be evaluated after that, per ESPN's Tim McManus.

Eagles' starting right guard Cam Jurgens is also dealing with an injury to his pec and missed Monday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

If Dickerson is officially ruled out on Christmas Day, that could mean a larger role for rookie Tyler Steen, assuming Sua Opeta stays at right guard in place of Jurgens.
