Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has been preparing for his Super Bowl moment since he was a freshman in college.
On Tuesday, Hurts told reporters that his connection with A.J. Brown has been growing ever since the pair went to their respective universities. Even though Hurts was enrolled at Alabama, and Brown at Ole Miss, the two remained close throughout the years.
“Since I was a freshman in college, I was always talking to (A.J. Brown) about ball,” Hurts revealed. “Always having these conversations and building our football IQ, I think it’s always been something that’s been building.”
Together At Last
When they were finally reunited by a draft day trade in 2022, the pair was ready to put all of their chemistry into action.
“When the rubber hit the road, it went smooth,” Hurts added. “Him coming to Philly, us having the opportunity to play together, I think it all happened naturally, it was all organic. We hit the ground rolling and hopefully we can do that for years to come. He’s a big time player and same goes for Smitty. When we had our time at Alabama, we had a little connection there. Getting him to come to Philly, that was icing on the cake.”
All of the stars in the football galaxy had to align for the Eagles’ big three to play together in the NFL. However, guarantees don’t exist in football. Just because this trio was finally together didn’t mean that they would find this level of immediate success.
For Hurts and Brown, this is the moment they’ve been waiting for over all of these years. From where they started to where they are now, it’s crazy to think that they are just one win away from their first Super Bowl.
