Eagles' Jalen Hurts did what everyone should do during their bye week

The NFL season can be daunting. I mean, this is the most physical game in American sports. These guys are either constantly getting hit, or constantly doing the hitting, so a bye week is always necessary, especially for the Philadelphia Eagles.
It's hard being the best team in football, too. I mean, being undefeated, and the only undefeated team is fun and all, but I'm sure it comes with a loy. The players will tell you it doesn't, but when you are undefeated, the added stress is there, for sure.
Think about it this way. How would the team feel if they lost that first game of the year? They would be very upset, and even more upset than if they had already lost one in the year, so don't say it doesn't carry any extra weight.
And think about the quarterback, and how stressed he can get during a season. Jalen Hurts took time to relax during the bye week. But, he also did something else that every player and the team should do during their bye, and heck, even daily if possible. He reevaluated himself.
"Just kind of taking a step away from the game, you know, relaxing my body," Hurts told the media on Thursday. "I had the opportunity to kind of evaluate where we are, where I am personally, in the offense. Just kind of a reevaluation moment for myself, the team, and the coaches, everybody. So, there is a lot of work being put in to take these steps."
Let's start by saying this, Hurts is one of the most mature guys you will meet not only on this team, but in the league, and he is only in his third season, which is mind-boggling.
He shows his maturity by knowing that even the perfect, or a 6-0 team, needs to be reevaluated at times during the season. There are things that the Eagles can easily get rid of that happened before the bye week.
Then, there are things the team and players can get better at, so I love that he threw in the part about reevaluating himself first.
This is a quarterback that is far ahead of what his age and experience would present. This guy is doing things that veterans do, and he isn't even considered one yet.
Hopefully, this time off was used in a good way for everyone, because there is still a task at hand. A Philly native once said it best, "What's there to be happy about? Jobs not finished. Job finished? I don't think so."
