Eagles, Hurts

The Philadelphia Eagles had a magical season. In fact, there is only one team who had a better season, which was the Chiefs, but only because they won the Super Bowl.

The defense was historical, as they were just a few sacks shy of the all-time season record. Not to mention they had the best pass defense for most of the season too. There were so many things that went right for them this year until they didn't.

They even had a guy who was an MVP candidate. That right there says enough about the season they had too. And man did Jalen Hurts have a pretty incredible season. He made the jump I don't think anyone expected.

He was one of the best players in the league all year long. Well, Pro Football Focus doesn't think so. They think he is in fact barely a top-25 player. They have him as the 24th-best player from this past season, and here is why:

"One of the surprises of the season, Hurts proved that he can be the guy in Philadelphia, as he was able to go toe to toe with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in one of the best Super Bowls in memory…until the ending. Hurts is a dynamic threat at all levels and produced 68 rushing first downs in the regular season."

To me, and obviously, this is subjective, Hurts was a top 15 to top 10 players all year long. He was in the MVP conversation all year long for a reason. In fact, at one point he was the favorite to win it until he got hurt and missed two games.

That has to count for something, right? Not to mention you could argue that outside of the fourth quarter Patrick Mahomes had, he was the best player in the Super Bowl.

Hurts deserves to be higher than 24, for sure.
