Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has remained confident and supportive over quarterback Jalen Hurts this season. Even amid some struggles and a prior losing streak, Sirianni never wavered as Hurts for the starting QB role. During the team’s Week 15 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, the two showed the trust they have in each other – regardless of the outside noise so far this season.

After connecting with A.J. Brown on a nearly game-clinching touchdown against the Raiders, the Eagles quarterback and head coach duo were understandably excited. “Hard Knocks” gave fans an even closer look into the celebration between Hurts and Sirianni.

Hurts played well, and maybe more importantly, efficiently versus Vegas. He took care of the football, made some plays on the ground, and was decisive in the passing game. It was against a struggling defense, but it was important that the passing attack for the Eagles found some success in that matchup. They did precisely that.

This week, Hurts has stayed consistent in what he is preaching. “Winning cures all” is often a topic or mantra entertained in professional sports. That is certainly how he is operating for Philadelphia right now. Meanwhile, his head coach is trying to get the team to enjoy the process on the way to winning games.

That should come as no surprise. Sirianni is not a play-caller. He is, however, the leader that the Eagles have found ways to rally around in the past. Whether it is defending his player from a call that he perceives as missed or pushing them to make a smarter decision on a play – Sirianni has never been afraid to speak his mind.

Linebacker Nakobe Dean discussed Sirianni’s effort in making sure his players keep their confidence as the regular season unwinds. Dean notes, “Together we can do anything. Our confidence didn’t waver one bit. The joy we have in practice, we are still loose, we are dancing. We are still hyping each other up. Nick showed us that as long as we keep our confidence and stay together, we can do anything.”

Going forward, the offensive duo of Hurts and Sirianni have to find comfort and consistency. That’s the only way the Eagles have an opportunity to win a second Super Bowl title in a row.
