The Philadelphia Eagles have had some of the most consistent pieces on the offensive line in the last nine years or so. Lane Johnson and Jason Kelce are those two pieces. The two are former All-Pro players and are some of the best at their position.
But, careers do come to an end, and for Jason Kelce, we thought that almost happened last season. In the offseason, Kelce announced on Twitter that he would be running it back for at least one year with the Eagles.
As we had so much going on during the regular season, it seems like most completely forgot about Kelce not promising next season as an NFL pro, but also not ruling out the fact that he would be back.
I'm sure a big reason Kelce wanted to come back this season was that he wanted one more shot at winning another Super Bowl. And, it seems like he got that.
"You know getting to one is hard," Kelce said earlier this week. "Getting to two is obviously an incredible feat by the organization, all the guys up here that have made that happen."
But, he answered the question about his future recently. Well, he kind of did.
"I don't think winning this game is going to determine whether I want to continue to play football or not," Kelce said.
So, that isn't a yes on retiring and it isn't a no. He just said that this game will have no effect on the decision. Hopefully, for the fans' sake and the sake of the team, Kelce comes back.
But, if he does decide to hang it up, what better way to do it than beating your former head coach and your brother in the Super Bowl?
