The Philadelphia Eagles were the obvious, runaway winners of the 2023 NFL Draft. Not only were their draft picks nearly unimpeachable by most available data, but the trade for D'Andre Swift for pennies on the dollar was one of the best moves of the weekend.

Swift joins a running back room that has very little in terms of a proven hierarchy. Assuming he can go out and play at his projected levels from before he was drafted, Swift can absolutely earn the top job in Philly.

As Swift settles in to his new town with his new team, he also will get a new number that will also happen to be a first for the Eagles as well.

The Eagles didn't waste much time to finally break out 0. How Swift was able to get this number despite being a new addition to the roster is beyond this writer, but it is a cool gesture from the front office to give a newer guy a priority number like this.

Perhaps this is a sign that the front office has high hopes for their newest running back with a move like this.

Hopefully the new number and Philadelphia treat Swift well.
