Eagles just received perfect motivation from Cowboys star
The Philadelphia Eagles don't necessarily need any motivation in 2023. Losing the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs this past February should be all the motivation the Eagles need entering a new season. Losing the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs this past February should be all the motivation the Eagles need entering a new season.
But at the same time, it's extremely tough to win games on a week-to-week basis in the NFL. Every team has plenty of talent and even teams that are out of the playoff picture early in the season are capable of beating any team in the league on any given Sunday.
So while motivation isn't essential, it can give a team an added-boost in a close matchup that could help secure a win.
That's why the Eagles — or at least the Eagles' defense — should be quick to use words this week from Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott as motivation when Philly plays their division rival this season.
Prescott guaranteed this week that he's going to throw fewer interceptions in 2023 than he did in 2022 (Prescott threw 15 interceptions last season — the most of his carer despite missing five games due to injury).
"I am going to lessen my interception numbers," said Prescott on Thursday. "That is a guarantee."
The veteran quarterback added that he's not going to stop being aggressive.
The Philly defense should take Prescott's words as a challenge — they should want to make Prescott look silly for his "guarantee".
Philadelphia doesn't play Dallas until Week 9 so it'll be a while before they need to worry about Prescott. But when that week comes around, the Eagles should plaster Prescott's quote about interceptions all over the locker room. Winning those two games against the Cowboys are going to be massively important. And if it takes a little bit of bulletin board material to get the job done, then so be it.
Eagles QB Jalen Hurts shattered multiple Super Bowl records even in loss
Last weekend didn't end how the Philadelphia Eagles and their fans wanted it to, but there were some silver linings for them still. The offense looked impressive. The offensive line dominated as per usual with their talented group. Jalen Hurts absolutely dazzled and doubled down on the concept that he should be their starter for […]
