The Philadelphia Eagles may not miss C.J. Gardner-Johnson for long.
Despite losing one of the top free agents on the market and one of the most productive DBs in the league from 2022, the Eagles still have the money and space to fill this hole with a better option.
Most teams don't get that lucky.
However, luck may not have anything to do with it when you have one of the best front office staffs in the NFL.
The Eagles know how to run a franchise and know which players to keep and which players to let walk.
The same can't be said for the Titans after it seems like they have made the decision to move on from All-Pro safety Kevin Byard.
The Eagles won't be upset by this. In fact, they may jump at the opportunity to bring such a player to keep Philly's secondary at the top of the league.
Even PFF.com lists the Eagles as the best landing spot for Byard.
The Eagles should be all over this opportunity. Byard is still at the apex of his career, a career that has seen him emerge as one of the best ballhawks in the league.
Twenty-seven interceptions and 63 passes defended in seven years doesn't just happen.
Byard may be on the pricey side, but even the Titans should be willing to keep that salary for a player of his caliber.
Still, if the Titans are so willing to move on from such a player, the Eagles should be happy to help a silly team lighten up their cap space.
