The Philadelphia Eagles are making the coaching move that many fans clamored for by midseason. While it came too late, at the least, it still happened for a fan base that is frustrated with the Eagles’ recent Wild Card loss at home against the San Francisco 49ers.

Eagles make change at offensive coordinator after playoff loss

According to reports, the Eagles have informed Kevin Patullo that they’re making a chance at offensive coordinator. He is not fired as of now, though. The assistant could stay on the Eagles staff in some capacity, according to Jeff McLane.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has released a statement on the decision as well.

“I have decided to make a change at offensive coordinator. I met with Kevin today to discuss the difficult decision, as he is a great coach who has my utmost respect. He has been integral to this team’s success over the last five years, not only to the on-field product but behind the scenes as a valued leader for our players and organization. I have no doubt he will continue to have a successful coaching career. Ultimately, when we fall short of our goals that responsibility lies on my shoulders.”

Jalen Hurts will have his fifth OC in five years with Eagles

With this move, the ever-changing landscape of the NFL will be felt by the Eagles quarterback once again. Hurts has not been able to get too comfortable with an offensive play caller for more than a singular season. Every year has brought him a new OC since 2022.

  • 2022: Shane Steichen
  • 2023: Brian Johnson
  • 2024: Kellen Moore
  • 2025: Kevin Patullo
  • 2026: TBD

Moore and Steichen were hired away for head coaching gigs around the NFL. Johnson and Patullo were both moved on from rather quickly. Let’s see what the Eagles have in store for their QB in 2026.
