Eagles, Minshew

There is one key player on the Philadelphia Eagles that has adopted a mindset that every player should use. In fact, it wouldn't hurt for everyone to have this same mindset about everything in life.

As we all know, the Eagles will be without Jalen Hurts on Saturday. Their MVP candidate is dealing with an injury after being hit pretty hard against the Chicago Bears last week.

Now he wanted to play, but having already secured a spot in the playoffs, the Eagles thought it would be best to let him sit out. That way he is rested and healthy come time for the playoffs.

With that means the Eagles' backup quarterback will play. In other words, the phenom that was Gardner Minshew will get a chance to show that he has it against an elite Cowboys defense.

There is a mindset that Minshew adopted that says a lot about the type of guy, and the type of player he is, and we could see that on display on Saturday, an early Christmas gift for us all if he pulls out a win in dramatic fashion like he is known for doing.

"I've always felt like when you show up to camp and put pads on for the first time, there's an adjustment period," Minshew said. "So I'm like, 'well, there doesn't need to be an adjustment period. There's no point of ever throwing without pads on. You never play without pads.' I made a deal with myself that I was going to throw with pads every time this year. I think it's something that's gonna stick because there's just no point not to."

Minshew has adopted the mentality that you stay read so you don't have to get ready. I'm sure we have all heard this in one way or another. With him getting his first start of the season, Minshew is already ready.

This is the same guy that was lighting it up in Jacksonville and became what you could call a phenom. People loved him for his swagger, hair, mustache, and uncanny ability to stay cool. But he was pretty good at football too.

Minshew will have a chance on Saturday to show other teams who may be looking for a quarterback that he still has it. If he does good against a very good Cowboys defense, who knows what could be in store for him next season?

All because he stayed ready so he wouldn't have to get ready
