The Philadelphia Eagles (12-2) are dealing with limited injuries as they get ready to take on the Washington Commanders (9-4) in Week 16.
However, they are sticking to resting many of their key players at the beginning of the week, including running back Saquon Barkley and wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. They also rested their starting five offensive linemen.
The Birds welcomed back defensive end Bryce Huff to practice, though in a limited capacity.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts (left finger) and wide receiver Britain Covey (neck) were also on Wednesday's injury report, but they still practiced in full.
Eagles Week 16 Injury Report Observations
- Nick Sirianni has discussed resting his key players when they need it in order to keep them ready to go for their playoff run.
- Quarterback Jalen Hurts injured his non-throwing hand in Week 14's win over the Carolina Panthers. He has not missed practice because of that.
- The Eagles rested their offensive linemen but they still did some workouts on the side, such as tossing a medicine ball back and forth.
- Left guard Landon Dickerson left last Sunday's game with a knee injury but he appears to be fine.
- Safety Sydney Brown suffered a concussion at the start of Week 15's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- Wide receiver DeVonta Smith's back is something to monitor.
- Brown did work out some on the side by himself but don't expect him to be available this week as he undergoes concussion protocol.
- Wide receiver Britain Covey has missed the last two games with a neck injury, despite practicing during the week.
- The Eagles have 21 days to activate Bryce Huff off Injured Reserve. He is still wearing a cast on his left hand.
