The Green Bay Packers have submitted a proposal to ban the Tush Push play and Philadelphia Eagles star right tackle Lane Johnson thinks it's hilarious.
Johnson took to social media to share his reaction by posting a simple laughing emoji in response to Dianna Russini's report: "The Green Bay Packers are the team that submitted a proposal to the NFL’s competition committee to ban the tush push, per sources."
What makes Johnson's reaction even better is that Packers' general manager Brian Gutekunst admitted to the media at the NFL combine this week that his team was bad at stopping the play.
“We’re not very successful against it, I know that, but to be honest with you I haven’t put much thought into it,” Gutekunst said. “It’s been around for a while, we’ve used it in different fashions with our tight end, so again, I think there will be a lot of discussions about it. I’ve got to look at some of the information as far as injury rates, things like that, to see. But we’ll see.”
As I have previously said, banning the Tush Push is always an offseason topic. However, since it's a play that isn't typically run, there is not been enough evidence found to prove that it's harmful, leaving it hard to justify banning it all together.
And according to Johnson's laughing reaction, nothing will change this offseason either.
