Eagles’ Lane Johnson teases fans with just one emoji on social media right before Philadelphia plays pivotal game for their playoff chances
Lane Johnson may return sooner than later for the Eagles offense.
The Philadelphia Eagles have a major test waiting for them in primetime in the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14. As they sit atop the NFC East, the birds are looking to end a two-game losing skid and prove that their offense can get off the ground against the bolts.
The offensive line with once again be without veteran offensive tackle Lane Johnson, but his return could come sooner rather than later. Fred Johnson may pull another start against LA while Johnson recovers from his foot injury.
Lane Johnson tweets eyeball emoji that has fans thinking about his return
Johnson has already been ruled out for Week 14’s Monday Night Football matchup, but that isn’t keeping him off X/Twitter – apparently. Rather, he posted a simple emoji, just the eye balls, hours before the Eagles play the most important game of their season so far.
The most likely prognostication of this post is Johnson teasing that he will return from injury next week. Philly will host the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15 then travel to Washington to play the Commanders in Week 16. Both are incredibly winnable matchups for the Eagles, but getting Lane back in the trenches would go a long way in helping the unit improve.
Johnson has been banged up so far this season, dealing with multiple ailments. That being said, he has often pushed through pain. He’s started all ten games he’s played in so far this campaign, and he will look to build on that number to close the regular season and entering the playoffs.
The Eagles desperately need to win this game against the Chargers, simply for the morale and momentum of the season inside and outside of the locker room. Frustration is building due to lackluster performances and questionable choices by the coaching staff. Getting a win over a potential AFC playoff team would go a long way for Philadelphia at the moment.
Regardless, we will have to wait for the official return of Johnson. The experienced fan favorite certainly knows how to stir the pot for his fan base, though.
