The Philadelphia Eagles announced some roster moves on Tuesday.
The teams released wide receiver Parris Campbell from the active roster and defensive back JT Woods from the practice squad.
Campbell had appeared in four games for Philly this season, including their most recent 28-3 win over the Giants. The 27-year-old veteran wide receiver played 112 offensive snaps and caught six passes for 30 yards with a touchdown through those four games.
The Eagles making room on their roster could signal that rookie wide receiver Ainias Smith is trending toward full health.
Smith, the Eagles' 2024 fifth-round pick, landed on Injured Reserve before the season started after suffering hamstring and ankle injuries at the start of training camp. The Eagles opened his 21-day practice window on Oct. 7, which means they have just one more week to decide whether or not they want to activate him.
Before heading to IR, Smith had redeemed himself in the team's preseason finale against the Minnesota Vikings, catching six of nine targets for 36 yards. He also returned one punt for 14 yards.
The Eagles could also be getting ready to activate tight end Albert Okwuegbunam (abdomen) from Injured Reserve as well. They could use some additional depth at the position with Dallas Goedert still on the mend, though Grant Calcaterra has been filling the void quite nicely.
Philly faces the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8 on the road. We'll see what the Eagles' first injury report tells us on Wednesday.
