Donovan McNabb shares awesome interaction with Eagles DB Cooper DeJean

The former Eagles quarterback had a bit of a fandom moment when he surprised DeJean at an autograph and picture event. The six-time Pro Bowl QB wasn’t afraid to make a scene with the defensive back in order to make him feel special, and that’s pretty awesome for both of those guys.

You can understand why McNabb is impressed by DeJean when you take a look at some of his numbers.

DeJean has emerged as a top slot CB in the NFL

The young defensive back has been a versatile piece for Philly so far in his career, and that’s become even more clear this campaign. The secondary, as a whole, has been a strength for the Eagles for most of the season, and DeJean playing alongside Quinyon Mitchell creates one of thew most exciting CB duos in the entire NFC.

  • 1st in PFF run defense grade (82.9)
  • 1st in PFF coverage grade (77.2)
  • 1st in passer rating allowed (57.7)
  • 2nd in yards allowed per coverage snap (0.66)
  • 2nd in missed tackle percentage (6.5%)

DeJean has not allowed a single passing touchdown in 385 coverage snaps as a slot cornerback, according to PFF.

It is also worth noting that McNabb has remained strong in his Eagles support since his retirement. He spent eleven seasons with Philly, and they certainly have his faithful following now that he is a spectator for the NFL.
