Super Bowl LIX was not an enjoyable one for Jason Kelce.
And that's because he was pulled in two separate directions.
On one hand, he was cheering for his former team and many of his teammates to win. But, on the other side, he was rooting for his brother to get the victory.
So, Travis asked Jason a simple question during the latest episode of New Heights: What was it like watching this one for you?
"Terrible," Jason simply responded.
“I knew it was going to be weird going into it. It progressively got weirder as the week went on. On one hand, you played your entire life with an organization, a team. A lot of people in that building – coaches, friends, teammates – that you’ve gone through adversity with and it really makes you very very close," Jason added. "And then on the other hand, you have your brother. And I’ve always supported you. I’ve always wanted you to win."
Travis cut in, making sure his brother knew that he was aware of all the support
“Every step of the way,” Travis said.
“And I wanted you to win this game," Jason continued. "I thought I made that clear.”
While the public might not have known, the most important person was very aware.
"You made that clear to me,” Travis responded.
Jason received a lot of criticism over the week for the way he handled this, but it was clear how torn up he was about the matchup. He let his raw emotions show when discussing this on Wednesday.
“It was weird, man. It was hard to navigate because I’m trying to say that I have people on the Eagles that I love and I also have you," he said. "And I tried to make it known that I was rooting for you and it felt like I couldn’t be right.
Afterwards, Travis went off, defending his brother for everything he said during the week. He completely understood what Jason was going through.
