After the team signed DT Linval Joseph on Wednesday, general manager Howie Roseman got back to work. The team inked Ndamukong Suh to a one-year deal on Thursday, according to multiple reports.
Suh is a five-time Pro Bowler with a high motor, even at 35 years old. Playing in his 13th season in the NFL, Suh has accumulated 70.5 sacks and 130 tackles for loss.
Not only does Suh fill a need with Jordan Davis on injured reserve, but the Eagles now have one of the most highly decorated rotations on the interior defensive line in football.
Philadelphia is Suh’s fifth stop in his career. Drafted by the Detroit Lions, Suh rose to stardom in his first five years there. He spent three seasons with the Miami Dolphins and one year with the Los Angeles Rams. Suh played the last three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he was a part of the team that won Super Bowl LV.
The move comes after two disappointing defensive efforts against the Houston Texans and Washington Commanders. Roseman deserves credit for spotting the glaring weakness and immediately addressing the issue.
