The Washington Commanders were so close to kicking themselves in the foot when defensive lineman Jonathan Allen and linebacker Frankie Luvu altogether jumped offsides four of five times during a fourth-quarter sequence as the Philadelphia Eagles attempted their infamous Tush Push play at the goal line.

Referee Shawn Hochuli was over it and threatened to award the Eagles a touchdown if they kept doing it.

“Washington has been advised that referees can award a score if this type of behavior happens again,” Hochuli announced to the crowd.

After the game, Hochuli explained in his pool report that it appeared Washington was trying to prevent the score by repeatedly jumping offsides — which is considered an "unfair act," per the NFL rule book.

“Simply put, a team can’t commit multiple fouls in an effort to prevent the score,” Hochuli told a pool reporter. “So [Luvu] jumped the ball a couple of times. That was when the warning came in. Again, if it’s meant to prevent a score, we can essentially award the score.”

Ultimately, Hochuli did not have to follow through with his threat since Jalen Hurts ended up punching the ball in for a 1-yard touchdown.

"It was hilarious,” Eagles starting right guard Mekhi Becton said postgame following the team's 55-23 NFC championship win. “I’ve never seen nothing like that. It was funny. It was hilarious, like, them keep jumping off. It was one of their [defensive] linemen just sitting there yelling, like, ‘Go on! Run the play! Run the play!’ It was hilarious because I knew they weren’t going to stop it. So it was funny.”
