After nine weeks of football, the Philadelphia Eagles are in the driver's seat in the NFC East.
They've pulled off an 8-1 record at the midway point, though their victories haven't always been perfect.
With the Eagles on a bye in Week 10, now is a good time to take a brief look at all three phases of this team to see how they've fared and dive into where they're headed for the second half of the season.
Offense

Led by Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown, this new Eagles offense has been fun to watch as both players continue to make NFL and franchise history, along with great cases for the 2023 MVP award.
Brown has had six-straight games of 125-plus yards receiving yards, becoming the first NFL player to accomplish the feat. Meanwhile, Hurts has been playing through a banged-up knee, which hasn't kept him from winning. In nine matchups, he's thrown for a total of 2,347 passing yards and rushed for 316 yards with 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
Also, thanks to the Eagles' reliable offensive line, the Eagles have been unstoppable with their QB sneak or "Tush Push," which has caused quite an uproar across the league.
Where they haven't looked so well on offense is in the red zone, but they've slowly been getting better in that area week by week.
With nearly two weeks to rest up and get healthier before their next game against the Kansas City Chiefs, this offense should come back only looking stronger and better.
Grade: A
Defense

If only the Eagles' secondary was as solid as their defensive line.
Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case.
The Eagles have a great run defense, but their pass defense has been incredibly hard to watch. Rookie defensive tackle Jalen Carter has been a huge bright spot and is in line for the Rookie Defensive Player of the Year award. And veteran edge Brandon Graham may be the "old uncle" of the group but has been doing his part in keeping the young bucks alive.
The Birds did add All-Pro safety Kevin Byard to bolster their secondary two weeks ago and they'll get Bradley Roby back after their bye week… let's just hope that's enough to get things under control back there as they make another run for the Super Bowl.
Grade: B-
Special Teams

The Eagles have arguably the best kicker on their team in Jake Elliot, who already has two Offensive Player of the Week awards under his belt.
Punt returner Britain Covey has been a hidden gem for the Eagles' special teams, ranking 4th in yards per return this year.
Rookie cornerback Kelee Ringo had a big "oof" moment in Week 6 when he was flagged for kick catch interference, but we're over that now.
Philly's special teams unit is nothing to worry about as long as they keep doing what they're already doing. Shout out to coach Michael Clay.

Eagles’ best free agent signing at midseason
The Philadelphia Eagles made the right decision to bring Brandon Graham back.
