The Philadelphia Eagles came into the season with not a ton of expectations. No one really thought they would do much, considering the way their season ended in the wild-card round last season.
They got beat, badly. But, they did make some changes to their roster and had a full year under their belt with the same coaching staff and the same foundation.
The Eagles still didn't get much attention though before the season started. For the most part, it was quiet. But they knew what they were doing, and they called it out.
Eagles' players knew there was something special brewing in Philly. Miles Sanders, the Eagles starting running back even said it earlier in the year. He said they had an all-star squad, and boy was he right.
“We all feel like we’re on an all-star team, so we feel great,” Sanders said. “We feel unstoppable, I’m not gonna lie. The vibes are great, always have been…”
He said that around seven months ago.
On Monday during opening night for the Super Bowl, he was asked about that quote, and he stood by his word.
“I think I have been proven correct.”
The Eagles finished with the best record in the league, and could have gone undefeated had a few plays gone their way. Oh, and did I mention they are the favorites to win the Super Bowl by many?
Yeah, this is definitely like an all-star team.
