The Philadelphia Eagles made two roster moves on Tuesday following their first padded training camp practice.
The team announced via X/Twitter that they waived wide receiver Danny Gray with an injury designation and signed wide receiver Ife Adeyi in a corresponding move.
Gray had been sidelined with a finger injury.
It’s unfortunate considering Gray was having an outstanding offseason before he was injured. ESPN even named him to their “under the radar” players list, emphasizing his elite speed.
Gray was originally a former third-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2022. He saw action in 13 games as a rookie with the Niners, finishing the season with just one catch for 10 yards. He then joined the Eagles last September and signed a futures/reserve contract with the team back in February.
As for Adeyi, he worked out with the Eagles during their rookie minicamp in the spring, but didn’t make it past the tryout. He went undrafted this past April after wrapping up his college career at Sam Houston State. Over 54 games, he hauled in 164 catches for 2,312 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2024. He added another 306 yards and four scores on the ground. Adeyi also chipped in returning punts and kicks.
The Eagles will hold a walkthrough on Wednesday before returning to t-shirt and shorts practice on Thursday.
