Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni went viral following his down-to-Earth comments to kick off training camp.

"The goal right now is not to get back to the Super Bowl," Sirianni told reporters on Wednesday. "Our goal is to get better today, you can't win two games unless you win one."

Even still, the Eagles head coach seems to understand that what worked last year as his team put together one of the best seasons in franchise history will probably work again in 2023.

The most immediate evidence of that was a simple yet overlooked decision made on Day 1 of Eagles training camp. Usually, teams that make a deep playoff run will manage the player's workloads early in camp and give them fewer snaps to allow them to rest as much as possible without sacrificing the much-needed preparation.

Eagles reporter Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94WIP.com kept this in mind during the team's Day 1 practice and tracked how many snaps the starters got. The results were telling: No additional rest ahead.

Asked what had gone into the Eagles' decision to have fewer back-to-back days of practice, Sirianni chalked it up to the preseason schedule.

"It was really just the way the preseason games fell at the end of the week," he explained, suggesting it had nothing to do with taking it easier on the players.

This might seem like a reach to some but consider NFL head coaches are working with significant time constraints and every rep is planned out well before practice starts.

Surely, the Eagles players will love it. After all, this is a group of players whose hunger to win has done nothing but grow in the long days that tend to follow a Super Bowl loss. I'm betting they wouldn't have it any other way.
