The Philadelphia Eagles have an incredible fandom. They’re passionate and always committed. That was crystal clear during the team’s blowout win in Super Bowl LIX.

The latest viewership numbers for Super Bowl LX actually prove that Philly and Kansas City are massive fans of their NFL squad, rather than provide info for Seattle or New England supporters.

Chiefs-Eagles Super Bowl 59 remains most-watched ever

Viewership for Super Bowl LX was quite strong. The Seahawks-Patriots matchup became the second-most viewed SB matchup in NFL history, but the Eagles are still a part of the matchup that wears the crown.

“The Seattle Seahawks’ 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots averaged 124.9 million viewers on NBC, Peacock, Telemundo, NBC Sports Digital and NFL+, according to Nielsen’s Big Data + Panel rating system.

That fell short of the 127.7 million U.S. viewers who tuned in for the Philadelphia Eagles’40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs last year on Fox.” — ESPN

Defensive dominance was the storyline for the Super Bowl for second year in a row

Just a year after the Eagles took a 34-0 lead over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, the Seahawks shut out the Patriots in the first half of the following grand daddy of them all for professional football.

Seattle’s defense played with their hair on fire and kept Drake Maye under duress all night long. He never got comfortable, mimicking the struggles of Patrick Mahomes just a calendar year before. The Eagles front seven dominated the Chiefs OL, while the secondary came up with key turnovers.

Sound familiar? That’s also what played out during Seahawks-Patriots, culminating in a game-sealing pick six by Seattle.

Both the 2025 Eagles and 2026 Seahawks defensive units deserve their flowers in a major way. Now, we wait to see if Philadelphia can reclaim their throne in the NFC after a frustrating playoff performance this season.
