Philadelphia Eagles starting safety C.J. Garnder-Johnson popped up on Thursday's injury report with a foot issue ahead of Week 3's matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

Due to a short turnaround, the Eagles held a walkthrough on Wednesday and Gardner-Johnson was able to participate in that.

Head coach Nick Sirianni spoke to the media before practice on Friday where he shared very little on Gardner-Johnson's foot.

"He tweaked something yesterday (Wednesday)," Sirianni said. "I won't get into the specifics obviously, but we'll see how today goes."

Gardner-Johnson has logged 11 total tackles for Birds over the first two games. If he is unable to play, it's believed that Avonte Maddox will get the start alongside Reed Blankenship.

Sirianni also addressed CJGJ's highstrung emotions following a game where Falcons wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud punched him in the face.

"My message to him has aways been– I love his emotion," Sirianni said. "I love his energy. He's got such an awesome personality that always use that personality to bring people together. Be yourself, have fun out there. Show your emotion. I would be crazy to tell him not to show his emotion because I show my emotion. But show your emotion. Do everything within the rules of the game because people feed off that. Again, love his energy and just his personality."

In addition to Gardner-Johnson, starting wide receiver A.J. Brown is still dealing with a hamstring injury and has not practiced all week.

Sirianni still won't rule him out.

"Again, we've got some time," Sirianni said. "We'll see how today goes. We've got today, we've got a little bit of tomorrow and Sunday before we have to make that decision. I know both guys are working their butts off to try to get back."
